The Qalabotjha Hip Hop &Amapiano Festival is a cultural intervention rooted in urgency, remembrance, and hope. Our community is facing a painful rise in violence, especially among young boys returning from initiation schools. What should be a sacred rite of passage is being overshadowed by gang formation, territorial conflict, and fear. We must act now—before this crisis deepens.
This festival is held in loving memory of Kananelo Stanza, a young soul whose life reminds us of what we stand to lose if we allow violence to replace tradition. Kananelo’s story is a call to protect our youth, preserve our culture, and rebuild unity through music, mentorship, and storytelling.
