Set in a dystopian South Africa of 2025, The After Effect imagines an apartheid 2.0 disguised as democracy. Citizens are quarantined under a false “water contamination,” forced to accept vaccination chips that track and control them.
Joe Makinta, a forgotten freedom fighter, is broken out of prison by a young resistance. As he searches for his lost family, he learns the bitter truth: his former brother-in-arms, Ta’Moss, betrayed the struggle during the CODESA talks and now serves as a Minister under capitalist elites.
