TANTU NADA: STRING OF SOUND - Hilton Heritage Fringe Festival

Dave Starke is a songwriter-songwriter descended of Scottish, Welsh and English ancestors, Nish Pillay is a classical tabla player with Indian ancestry. The two have composed, performed and recorded together for the best part of a decade. During the work-less isolation of lockdown, they began to examine their differing musical roots with the view of establishing the common features between the two. The result was "Tantu Nada" meaning "string of sound" in Gaelic and Sanskrit. Together they perform traditional songs and original compositions in an exploration of our ancient human cultural connectedness.
